Begin Again and Again and Again

I've gotta be honest, I'm a little disappointed in 2022. It was supposed to be MY year! The year where everything comes together and starts working FOR me! It didn't exactly go like that. I had multiple surgeries, including the most painful one of my life. I was forced by Moth

er Nature to give up classes and students I love, and I struggled make ends meet. Again. It would be easy to throw in the towel of despair and just bawl in it. 💦 But that's not my way.

Yoga teaches us to Begin Again ...and again... and again... and again. Life isn't always going to go how you think it will, and you need to be prepared to start over! Again. It reminds me of the story of Thomas Edison, who despite not quite being the man of integrity we had hoped, offered us some insight. And outsight. Literally! In his journal, he noted that it took over 1,000 times to create a functional lightbulb! 1,000 TIMES!!! How many times would you have tried? I'd probably give it a good 5 or 6 tries, before I decided it was a stupid idea and who wants to see at night anyway?? 🤦‍♀️ But thanks to his diligence 💡, beginning again and again 1kX, that we have all these awesome lights! Think about it next time you flip the switch. We are called to BEGIN AGAIN over and over, as many times as it takes! So here's MY WAY of handling a less than stellar year of challenges....it's based on ancient Hawaiian tradition, a meditation called the Bowl of Light. It helps us to set down the troubles and struggles we are carrying so we can Begin Again fresh and new! Use this as a way to put down all the challenges from last year, so you can start over again, a little bit lighter.

Bowl of Light We all collect stones along our path. Join me and let's put them down now. The next time you notice a bright light , think of the lesson BEGIN AGAIN. And know that it's not too late, you're not too old or young, or rich or poor, or TOO BUSY!! Bright lights take time. Begin. Again.
